At the threshold of abandonment 2013
The feeling of not knowing what you are going to come across when you enter this darkness was the stimulus for this project.'At the threshold of Abandonment' in simple words, is a collection of found rubble that has once been a part of something functional. These little fragments that go unnoticed by the everyday passerby have grabbed my attention because the feeling of abandonment they emanate. Every stone, bark, fragment of door has a memory and a story of its own. In my work, I have made my own intrusions on them, as a kind of an intuitive response. These intrusions can be described as some sort of entrances or portals, which are primarily based on the abandoned places I’ve visited the fragments remind me of.
