Butterflies sometimes travel over two thousand miles in order to survive and continue their lineage. Seven painted canvas pieces are installed draping from a center point, mimicking a butterfly that has just emerged out of its chrysalis, a stage symbolizing a new beginning and a start of a long and an arduous journey.

The Unloved
2024-25

From being unpopular and undesired to being the most resilient plants, the weeds shed some light on the human psyche – Our need to be wanted and our need to have control. This installation is a commemoration and celebration of these unloved but tenacious species.
